Our Programme for 2007……………………
Events so far confirmed……
Wednesday 20 June
The National Elite Men’s Circuit Race Championship
The Otley Town Centre Races pre-date the Festival and have developed a reputation as one of those events for spectators not to miss, in fact over 4000 don’t. For the second time this reputation is rewarded with the event incorporating the National Championships. It’s fast, furious and the very best way to be close to the circuit racing at its very best. Early arrival is essential as the barriers quickly become crowded around the 2 mile circuit of closed roads.
Thursday 21 June
The East Riding Road Race League Key to the Festival’s success is the balance created between its Major Events and those that offer opportunities for riders of all levels. The East Riding Road Race League is a season long promotion that provides racing opportunities from Starter to Elite level. Every edition of the Festival so far has featured one of these events.
Saturday 23 June
The Ryedale Rumble
A key feature in the development of the Festival has been the link with Lord and Lady Feversham’s Duncombe Park Estate in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. This magnificent backdrop is a constant challenge to us to top the previous year’s promotion. For 2007 this sees a brand new event the Ryedale Rumble a development of the growing Sportive formulae of extreme leisure rides. 115 miles and the major climbs of The North York Moors using Duncombe Park as the start and finish venue. Not a race the event is however timed, enabling every finisher to receive a certificate of achievement.
