First introduced in 2004 The Yorkshire Festival of Cycling was initially a grouping of existing events re-scheduled around a single week of intense activity. The following year saw a significant leap forward as British Cycling’s Yorkshire Region introduced Major Event promotions to the programme. For the first time in many years this saw The British Road Race Championships takes to Yorkshire roads. Now Championships are a common feature of the Festival and yet the ambition burns to create a bigger and better showcase of the very best of British Cycling
